| Technical grade, 200 Bloom, Type B, 40 mesh Type B is gelatin derived from cattle. Bloom number indicates the gel strength of the gelatin; the higher the number the stiffer the gelatin when set. Two hundred is a medium viscosity. 40 mesh equals a sieve/mesh that has 40 openings per square inch. Sieved grains of gelatin will be approximately 0.422mm in diameter. Use in conservation: i.e. adhesive for vellum repairs, sizing of paper, paper splitting. The gelatin is sold in a plastic container or as a refill in a plastic bag.
