| The AGS 2000 is the highly advanced aerosol system engineered by the Zentrum fuer Bucherhaltung (ZFB) in Leipzig, Germany. The ZFB has extensive experience in the conservation of books, documents and paper objects. Their daily hands on experience leads to continual improvements of the AGS 2000 and guarantees the highest quality and best technological performance. The new generation of the AGS 2000 was especially developed for the conservation of paper objects like paintings, drawings and photographs. Primary applications include consolidation of powdery paint and photographic surfaces. It can also be used for the removal and applying materials. The aerosol generating system AGS 2000, uses ultrasonic atomization to produce small aerosol droplets. A quartz diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency in the base of the atomization chamber creates droplets which are formed on the liquid surface. These droplets can reach the smallest spaces in the paint layers without producing a film on the object´s surface. Whether used in consolidating material or material removal the constant aerosol flow makes professional work easy and fast. |

| - The contact-free application reduces the risk of damaging the object - The constant droplet size of 5 μm allows the consolidant to penetrate extremely deep into the friable layers guaranteeing a better adhesion of the media to the object. - The applications are varied, since all water-soluble substances can be atomized. - Alcohol can be added enhancing the penetration of the consolidation medium. - The complex air filtering system with dust and bacteria filters guarantee a dust free aerosol. · Maintenance is easy due to long lasting equipment parts. - The low aerosol flow of 1,000 to 1200ml/min ensures that loose particles will not be blown off the surface. · The device is very quiet and working with it is extremely comfortable. - The heatable aerosol tube enhances the processibility of the consolidants and dripping is avoided. - The easy to change beakers allow a quick exchange between different adhesives. - Large amounts can be atomized directly from the atomization chamber. This makes working with the AGS 2000 easy and fast. - The new screwable atomization chamber makes the AGS 2000 even more reliable. - In addition to distilled and deionized water the following consolidants can be atomized: Gelatin (1 %), Methylcellulose MH 300 (0.5 %), Sturgeon glue (1.5 %), Klucel® (1 %), Wheat starch (1 %) |
