Guar gum is a polysaccharide made of the sugars galactose and mannose.
Guar gum comes from the endosperm of the seed of the legume plant Cyamopsis
tetragonolobus. Guar gum is used as a thickener in cosmetics and the food
industry and has a very high viscosity.
Use in conservation: Leafcasting, pulpfilling.
Guar Gum acts as a formation aid and is added to the paper pulp for better fiber
distribution and suspension to produce a more even cast and fill.
